Board of Selkirk Group plc

The Board of Selkirk Group plc comprises the following persons:

  • Iain McDonald (Executive Chair), aged 53

    Iain McDonald is an experienced investor in technology and e-commerce companies. He was an early investor into many well-known businesses in the sector including ASOS, THG plc (The Hut Group), Metapack, Anatwine, Eagle Eye Solutions and Lifeworks. Iain is the founder and CIO of Belerion Capital Group, which is an investment business focussed on technology and e-commerce companies. Iain sits on the boards of two PLC businesses - Team Internet Group (where he is non-executive Chairman) and Boohoo.com. He stepped down from the Board of The Hut Group earlier in 2024 having been on the board for a number of years prior to the IPO of the company in 2020. Iain was also the founder of the Online Retail Association which campaigned successfully against the imposition of an online sales tax.

  • Angus Monro (Non-executive Director), aged 75

    Angus Monro was a non-executive director of THG plc until August 2020. He has deep experience of the retail sector, having spent 13 years at Marks & Spencer, followed by 5 years at the Burton Group/Arcadia where he was managing director of Dorothy Perkins. Angus then spent 4 years at Kingfisher where he was trading director at B&Q and Woolworths. Angus joined Matalan as a non-executive director in 1991, becoming Chief Executive 5 years later and leading the retailer’s flotation in 1998. Between 2002-2008 Angus was a non-executive director at NSB Retail Systems prior to its sale in 2008.

  • Alan Bannatyne (Non-executive Director), aged 54

    Alan is an experienced board member with strong experience in listed company financial management and a track record of successful global expansion for over 15 years. Alan qualified with Deloitte & Touche in London in 1996, finishing in 1999 after having worked for two years in South Africa for the Entrepreneurial Services division. Alan has held various commercial, financial and company secretarial roles over his career, including at Robert Walters PLC, where he began as Group Financial Controller in 2002, becoming CFO in 2007 and finishing in 2023. Alan is currently the Chair of XPS PLC, where he was formerly Audit Committee Chair.

The following people are Directors of Selkirk Group plc’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Selkirk Jersey Limited:

  • John Goold (Director), aged 53

    John Goold is Chief Executive Officer at Kelso Group Holdings plc. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in London with Touche Ross in 1996 before a 25-year career in the city raising growth capital and advising small and mid-cap companies. John initially started in corporate finance before moving into equity sales and corporate broking where he spent most of his career advising smaller listed companies on stock market issues. During his career, John has helped raise over £5.0 billion for his clients, much of which was while he was Chief Executive of Zeus from 2012 to 2021. He is currently a non-executive director of Oncimmune Holdings plc and Boohoo Group plc.

  • Mark Kirkland (Director), aged 56

    Mark Kirkland is Chief Financial Officer at Kelso Group Holdings plc. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse Coopers in London and has gained extensive corporate experience over 30 years having held numerous senior roles in public and private companies. Mark's initial career was in corporate finance predominantly with UBS. Mark has been CFO of numerous public and private companies and latterly was Chief Executive Officer of Delin Property, a pan European Logistics developer, investor and manager. He is currently a non-executive director at Strix Group plc and AEW UK REIT plc.

  • Jamie Brooke (Director), aged 53

    Jamie Brooke is Chief Investment Officer of Kelso Group Holdings plc. He has over 25 years investment experience and has been a director on over 20 company boards. He was formerly lead fund manager for the Hanover Catalyst Fund. Prior to this, he spent 12 years with the top-rated Volantis team, specialising in strategic and active UK small cap equity investing, where he was lead fund manager for the Volantis Catalyst Funds and led the team’s corporate engagement strategy. Earlier experience was gained at 3i and Quester in private equity, after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte. Jamie read Maths at Oxford University and is currently a non-executive director at Oryx International Growth Fund Ltd, Chapel Down Group plc, Titon Holdings plc, Triple Point Venture VCT plc and Flowtech Fluidpower plc.
